Current Weather no workie on iPhone or iPad
Dave, Checked with a buddies iPad today and another iPhone and neither will display current weather while holding the finger on the button. Played around with layers too and got nothing. Hope there is a way to get that to work again. Is a really awesome feature!

GREAT JOB! Beautiful work!
Thanks so much for putting in so much work on SkyVector. It's truly a pleasure to use and has been the most reliably best-performing flight planning app I've ever used. Rock-solid underneath! That's an accomplishment! Kudos!

~~In a sky full of people, only some what to fly, isn't that crazy? --Seal

Waiting since Sun n Fun
This was demo'd at SunNFun 2012 and I was wondering when it was coming out. Looked everyday to see. Thanks for a great product and understand there will be small bugs to work out, but I think you have hit this one out of the park. I am a military aviator and have used Skyvector.com for 5 years to plan flights for trainers and the such. Keep up the great work and see you at Sun N Fun 2013. Cheers.
Thanks for all the work that
Thanks for all the work that has gone into this kickass update!
Da qualche giorno non posso più stampare le cartine, per quale ragione?
This is fantastic!!!!
Thank you so much for this! I live in Buffalo and Canada is 1/2 my flying world.....thank you again this is the best ever!
do you know is is possible to print a route plan that i did in skyvector?
Site updates!
Thank the staff, it's an awesome site that just got even better! Thanks for the hundreds of charts that have already made flying for me alot less complicated, you guys are great. Sincerely, JC

Great website before, even better now!

Question? How long until TFR
Question? How long until TFR's appear on map. I noticed AIFP has a new TFR near my home airport but it hasn't appeared on skyvector yet.

Orlando Fly
I use this often with the paper sectionals......will this site be set-up like a paper sectional.....it's currently blank other than airport airspace sectors? Thanks, Bob
How do I receive permission to republish these?
I will check about permission to republish.
Don't think there should be any problem since this is public aviation info, but I will confirm that with people in Israel and the civil aviation office.
Need more info
Ken, I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Explain it a little more if you can.
We'll fix it.
For the first time, iOS devices and real browsers are running off of the same codebase. Looks like we didn't notice that the hold-for-metar feature didn't work. We'll get it working soon.
YIPPIE !!! ...(so far)
Dave: I can now do what I did before. Thank you. I will keep you posted of any bugs I encounter. How about returning the "Show Weather" checkbox to the former "taskbar" ? The process is now 3 clicks instead of just 1 (1) click "Layers" (2) toggle wx on/off (3) close "Data Layers" "Show Weather" checkbox was and is used so very frequently that I think the utility is better served on the "bar" like before. What do you think ?
Good point
Are you finding that you always turn off weather every time the map loads? Or are you often turning it on and off? I guess what I'm wondering is if you would be happy if it remembered the way you left it, or if you really want it easier to turn on and off.
"Show Weather" checkbox...
reply to #17 I really want it easier to turn on and off.
i fly for a living and always
i fly for a living and always like the map set up the same way. I vote for have my selections to be saved or remembered!
World Charts
This is such a great addition! Thank you very much. Flight planning is so much easier with the "big picture" possible on the continuous charts. This is the one major feature that was missing from SkyVector (RunwayFinder used to be my favorite for this very reason). Thanks as well for retaining access to the individual charts; sometimes the information on the edges is what I'm looking for. I will do my best to get some decent airport pictures in my local area and send them to you :-)
Airport photos
Thanks for the world, Dave. You ask for airport photos. Can you be more specific about the kind of photos you want? Do you want overheads of the runways, or on the ground of the runways, or of terminals or...?
A giant leap forward
I have been eagerly awaiting a World Map feature and I am quite pleased! Although I see some bugs being reported here and there, I am sure that with time, this website will be as smooth as ever! Keep up the good work and I will be sure to recommend this site to fellow pilots!
This just obviated the need
This just obviated the need for all my other charting resources. Absolutely fantastic!
LFSY airport information incorrect (old datas)
Hi ! the LFSY airfield is NO LONGER "Chaumont la Vendue" - For years it has become "CESSEY Baigneux-les-Juifs" wich is a private airfield with a 07/25 1370m hard surface runway ; can only be used in case of emergency (or if the owner invites you, of course !)

Can't scroll map
After clicking only once on World VFR, I can no longer scroll the map on Skyvector, even if I use a different browser. This is highly inconvenient! I can no longer use Skyvector at all!

The World VFR charts are beautiful!

Simply Awesome!
Dave- Awesome job on the updates, you guys continue to rock! Ill continue to spread the word that SkyVector is THE flight planning site to use! Works without a glitch so far on a Win7 rig running Chrome. (1) Any chance to add a checkbox next to each group (i.e. SIGMETS, AIRMETS, and Radar/Sat) that would allow one check to activate all the sublayers in that grouping? Just a thought. (2) In the AIRMET grouping the IFR checkbox is on the line above the "IFR" text. I think it may be a word wrap issue. Any chance to list the layers vertically like the Radar and Sat grouping? (3) Any plan to add the digital FAA produced Caribbean high and low IFR charts (http://aeronav.faa.gov/digital_enroute_Carib_Pac.asp?eff=03-10-2011&end=05-05-2011) to SV? Would be a HUGE help to those of us flying down south. Keep up the GREAT work! Look forward to logging on and checking out the updates each day!

Link Update
My bad, the FAA high/low Caribbean IFR chart link was to old charts. Heres the current cycle: http://aeronav.faa.gov/digital_enroute_Carib.asp?eff=07-26-2012&end=09-20-2012

Layers and Cookies
One more Dave: When selecting any layers (other than text WX, TFRs, and SIGMETS), it appears they clear from SV if you navigate from the page and then return. Unlike the 3 layers mentioned above, your last position and chart you were using during your last session, these guys don't auto-reload upon return. Maybe a cookie issue?

I LOVE THE NEW SETUP. I use SkyVector extremely for flying and controlling on the Vatsim Simulation Network, and it is great to know how to get around when international! Also love seeing the TFRs on the chart, as well as Sigments, IFR, and all the other new features! KEEP IT UP!

Happy Flying! Michael "Meep" Mainiero

I'm not the type to use an internet forum much, but having seen the new Sky Vector format, I had to come and comment. Whenever I plan a flight, the first web site that I log in to is Sky Vector. Imagine my pleasure when I see that I see! Keep up the great work on the site!
apple / safari support ?
I can't tell as much now but before changes, each airport had a dot that would show current AWOS or display current conditions at airports. That no longer works. As a little old J3 Cub driver I loved the ability to check winds at various airports for LCL flying around on my iphone. That feature doesn't show any more in iPhone / iPad. Is there a way to get that back? I don't see anything in iPhone for layers to display local airport weather conditions. Otherwise, I just think the app is the most fantastic I've ever seen. Great work!
Which airports are missing?
We refreshed all the weather station locations. I wonder if that caused yours to disappear.
Kim Hanson
Dave, your site is simply amazing. Instead of fumbling around through various poorly designed sites I can come here and get most of what I need. So far everything works as advertised and the only suggestion I have is aim to cover the world as well as you have the U. S. I am tempted to send a link for SkyVector to NavCanada and say, "You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Look what this guy can do for free!" Truthfully the world's official aviation agencies could learn a thing or nineteen from you.
Dave. Any other clues as to why the METARS wont show on iPhone/iPad anymore. Since there is no "mouse". used to just hover on the dot with a finger and the current weather would display. It will pop up the GPS and planning routes.. Everything works GREAT on PC or MAC with mouse/tracking pad! Love all the new info and charts. Wonderfully done.
I think I know why.
The codebase is actually quite different, and I'm sorry that this feature slipped through the cracks. We can fix it and we will fix it.
Thanks Dave! It's all back. Fantastic. Best site on the internet! I don't know what else someone could want for flight planning and weather data.

LOGG is named as "Kapfenberg" airport.

Kapfenberg is LOGK.

The real name is "Punitz-Güssing" LOGG.

Wow just discovered this place, can't believe this is real.  This place is amazing, awesome for both real world and simulation as well.

Additional features

For the VFR charts, you might want to add airway names, headings and inter-navaid distances, as well as features on the ground such as city and town names, high obstacles (towers, masts etc.) and their heights above sea and ground levels, summit names and elevations, island and water body names, power lines, isogonic lines (lines of equal magnetic declination), etc.

For the IFR charts, it might be advisable to print lats and longs next to selected fix names.

I also found that on the VFR charts, CAP3 is misspelled as "Schelt" (should be "Sechelt").

Excellent work!

Hi Dave,

Very detail. Excellent work!

Great Work

This is a much appreciated (and needed) resource.

I spend the winters in Mexico and have been needing this for years.

Gold Virtual Airlines

Nice speaking with you at the Northwest Aviation Conference in Puyallup last weekend!

I'm wondering if you might be able to use WACs to suppliment information in your World VFR Charts?

Mike White

WACs or ONCs?

Are you sure you mean the WAC's because we've had the WAC's for years.

Perhaps you're thinking of the ONC/TPC/JOG charts by NGIA? They are mostly way out of date, which is why we don't use them.

Love it

Easy to use, adn very good

As I can locate the airways, is there a way?

Canada no longer available??????

can't plan any trips north of the USA CF Charts itseems?????

Downloading a chart?

Is there a procedure to download an international Hi chart?  We ferry 767s around the world and a procedure to download charts would be perfect.  For example, we are ferrying a machine from WSSS to KYGR next week.  I was able to print sections to cover an area from Singapore to the Philippines wher we join the Pacific Oceanic chart.
