We've been getting lots of suggestions. Among the top requests are 1. Seamless chart layer. 2. NEXRAD overlay. 3. Printable tripkits. All three of these are in the works, in that order. Feel free to add your own ideas to this list.

If you were one of the lucky few to attend Sun 'n Fun, you would have seen a preview of our seamless charts. A handful of bugs to squash and they'll be live for everyone soon.

It would be quite nice to show a current location bug, and perhaps eventually a "CDI" window. This could be done in javascript, with gpsgate installed on the machine. c.f http://forum.gpsgate.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6102 , and the chart images cached locally. This approach might even obviate the call for a mobile app.

First of all I want to state out that this is great service you are delivering to us.

My question is - what are your plans for importing pilot logs (GPX file).

Can we maybe expect somethink like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPjxTD11170 in the near future?

I wish we can copy and paste real life flight plans and see entire route including airway and Lat/Lon format waypoints.

Which not possible to enter them at this time

It is great that you show the time since issuance next to the metars.  Since cloud heights are presented as ceilings and the user may not be leaving from the indicated airport, it would also be nice to see the elevation of the airport.  That way the user could easily convert the ceiling to a cloud height and evaluate their own local conditions.

Cloud hights in METARS are provided in AGL (above ground level) and the airport elevation is on the sectional in the Airport Data. Add the airport elevation to the cloud hight to get cloud hight from MSL.

Hello Dave.  As everyone has said, over and over, great work...great site!  I'm sure this has probably been discussed, but any thoughts of adding a 'street address look-up' capability?  Big help in quickly finding closest airports to final destinations.  I'm aware that I can go to google maps, find the address, fetch the GPS coordinates and add them as a waypoint.  Maybe there's an existing better way....

Thanks a million,

I'm a software developer, pilot, safety researcher and also training tools developer. I think SkyVector is a great job, outstanding from any point of view.

Living out of the US (currently in Spain) I am following SkyVector from the very beggining, and I can say the jump into world syntethically generated VFR charts (worldwide coverage) was really a jump-into-space for SkyVector. This tool is not useful just for flight-simulation and real-flight planning helping tool (As a safety researcher I must emphasize pilots should always check ARO/AIS office for any news that might not be reflected in this tool, and consider the ONLY valid flight information is the one you get from official sources). Anyway this is a great tool for training, and for TEACHING.

Things that sometimes I would like to get from SkyVectors are:

- Possibility to plot more than one route at the same time > Might be combined with the possibility to import a GPS track or a coordinates track exported from a flight simulator to plot real route compared to intended route.

- Add the 3rd dimension to the route, so it can be later compared to the real route plot.

- Maybe an API or SDK for developers that could develop complementary tools integrated with SkyVector, maybe after an special agreement or so.

- Maybe a special license for developers willing to program apps for commercial use (might be for training tools using SkyVector as a mapping device). (Use of AppleMaps, Google Maps/Earth, or whatever is aeronautically speaking very bad, because of lack of aeronautical-style-charting since the information on an aeronautical chart complements what we see in a flight simulation evolution for pilot-instructor brieffing).

- ETOPS radius limits (45, 90, 120, 180 and 240 minutes) and ETP markings.

I am not going to ask for auto-routing because I know this is far much complicated to do, and there are already software that do that.

Is it possible to put a "flip flop" on the departure and destination entries on the flight plan.  It would be useful in planning a flight.  I love the website and use it often to plan fights
