I noticed yesterday a different appearance on Skyvector. Everything seems to work, but the map area is blank. I'm currently running Internet Explorer 6.0 and have updated Java. Any advice?

Just a point of clarification, SkyVector requires JavaSCRIPT, not Java. If you have disabled scripting in IE6, then you will see the welcome text rather than the map. If you see the map container but no map, perhaps you're behind a proxy or filter that blocks tiles.skyvector.com (the url from which the map images are loaded)?

IE6 is supported, so we should be able to get you working. First of all, clear your cache. Then use the Chart selector (Globe Icon) to select a chart. Then I'd suggest sending a screenshot to skyvector@gmail.com Barring that, describe the map area in detail. Is it blueish gray or white with text? Do you see the crosshairs and zoom controls? Do you see the topbar, which is the darkened bar with white text on it? Do you see the switcher links in the upper right which are for selecting other charts? Do you see a small yellow alert in the bottom left which could be a javascript error message? [Edit:] Do you have a latitude/longitude in the topbar and what is it? This should give me a good idea of where its failing.

Dave, Everything seems to work and when I pass the cursor over the globe, a map drops down showing the US divided into sectional squares. The problem occurs when I click on a sectional area, the map area turns blue. I see the zoom tool in the lower right, but nothing in the area. I've cleared everything in Internet Tools and no change. I noticed this for the first time yesterday. I'll do a screen capture and send that to you at the email address you sent. Thanks, Bob

I'm actually having the same problem. I used to use skyvector before and it was fine, now I download a new version of firefox and the chart is not showing, it might just be a coincident how ever. http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/1749/skyvector.jpg Would appreciate if someone could help me out. thanks

Try visiting https://skyvector.com/

SSL Cannot be tampered with, so if that works then you probably have something molesting your HTTP traffic.

Please let me know if the https changes anything.

It finally works, i'm not sure exactly what I did to fix it thought. It was not working for about a week and a few hours after I made the post it worked. Well thanks anyways. MachFly

Some pages that used to work, stopped working. http://160knots.com/LonePine.htm Most of my pages contain a SkyVector map users can click on. Some pages the SkyVector link has stopped working recently. I can't control what browser (version) people use who visit my site. What gives?
Frank Holbert http://160knots.com

Frank, Thanks for alerting me to this. I looked at your site and it was pretty easy to see what was going on. The map code looks for the div to build the map in by its DOM id. In the new version, I more strictly check all the values passed into the script, and in the case of the DOM id, I was not allowing spaces. I've loosened my checks, but technically, I don't think that spaces are allowed in DOM id's. Your pages are working now, but I recommend you update to the new code described here: http://skyvector.com/content/linking-skyvector

got onto the site and saw the Montreal sectional. I then logged into the site to view the forum, logged out of it went to the charts icon and selected the Montreal sectional - map screen was "blank" (kind'a a light pale-blue). Checked some settings, java script is enabled, tried again. n.g. re-booted the laptop and came back in - n.g. What could I have possibly changed without trying that has the site no longer working? Thoughts welcomed, Rich_in_the_hills _

I am getting Blank Pages too. I am using Chrome but never ever experience any issues such as this. Right now: 20:40 CDT - 01:40Z Thanks and regards, Art

Any help would be wonderful.....

Got it too, tried two computers and Chrome, FF and IE. Maybe it's related to ATT?

Firefox and I.E. are no joy.Everything but the maps show

Same report. Can't view any aspect of any chart. I hope the repair can be made quickly. Sure do like SkyVector!

Used Skyvector last night at 7:00, everything was fine. Tried to use it again at 9:00, map pages are blank. Can someone help.

Charts not showing everything else is working ok. All headers present but chart area is light blue I was using SkyVector using without problem

Same here. I have been using skyvector for the past year without any problem. This problem seems to start at 7 last night and continues until now. I have tried both Chrome and Firefox on my laptop and Safari on my iphone without any luck.

Same problem here both on Safari (MAC) at home and Windows XP at work. First noticed it last night.

We've been using the site charts feature as a reference without any trouble for years but have been unable to access charts since last night either. Very helpful. Hopefully the charts will be back up soon.

Whoever's trying to fix the site, maybe this will help: When I go to the chart page (any chart page, I've tried all the types, though only one actual chart of most of them), all I get is a blank screen. Checking the source, the section below the div with type "sv sv_topbar" only contains an img tag for clear.gif, there doesn't appear to be anything else being loaded I am seeing the chart.js file, however, it doesn't appear to load anything. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help. Turned out our postgres database went into recovery mode and wouldn't come back. We're working on standing up a new server which will hopefully be more reliable.

For the past several maps have not been populating (just blank blue screen) when using google chrome browser.  Site working with all other browsers.

Any help?
