We Love Pilots!
Located just two nautical miles east of Potsdam village, Damon Field, also known as Potsdam Municipal Airport, provides a key connection to the skies for the community of Northern New York. The Village of Potsdam owns and operates the airport, located on the Hatch Rd. The Damon Field Airport is a general aviation field that is home to approximately 20 commercial and recreational based aircraft and is open for public use. This airport is an integral part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2019–2023, where it is recognized as a general aviation facility.
The airport is spread across an area of 168 acres and sits at an elevation of 474 feet above sea level. Over a 12-month period, it saw 6,000 aircraft operations, averaging 16 per day, with 92% of these being general aviation flights. The airport serves as a base for local aircraft, primarily single-engine planes.
