We Love Pilots!
Heritage Field started as an airfield in 1928, it was then known as Pottstown-Limerick airport. It received airport licensing from the state in 1931. In 1968 PECO acquired the airport due to its proximity to the planned Limerick nuclear generation plant. PECO contracted with PennAirways to manage the airport at that time and PennAirways manages the airport operations to this date. In 2009 Pottstown-Limerick airport and PennAirways were acquired by local business man, avid pilot and vintage aircraft collector John K Desmond Jr and the airport name was changed to Heritage Field.
Each year Heritage Field hosts a number of events including in 2013 the 49th annual Fly-in Pancake Breakfast and 3rd annual Community Day welcoming thousands of visitors to the airport for airplane rides, vintage aircraft and airplane tours.
