We Love Pilots!
The Belleville Municipal Airport is located just west of Belleville, along Highway 36. The Airport is maintained by the City of Belleville Street Department. The main asphalt runway is 3,500 feet long and 60 feet wide. There is also a grass runway that is approximately 1,700 feet long. The City offers tie downs for planes, a hanger for parking planes overnight, and a pilot’s lounge, equipped with restrooms and a local phone.
Aviation Fuel is available to purchase using MasterCard, VISA or Discover with pay at the pump.
With the help of FAA grant money, the City has made many upgrades in the previous years at the Municipal Airport. In 2006, the entire runway was torn out and a new bed and asphalt was installed. Along with that project, new runway lights were installed and all runway markings were painted. More recently, a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) lighting system was installed to assist pilots with landing. The lounge and office area was remodeled, making it more attractive for our guests arriving in Belleville.
