iPad / iPhone / iPod touch now work!
We are happy to roll out support for touch gestures on these popular devices. You can now drag the map with your finger and zoom it with the pinch gesture. We readily admit that simply enabling the touch gestures to drag and zoom the map is not the same as deploying a touch-optimised user interface, but it is a first step. If you have the hardware, please take it for a spin and let us know your feedback. Best, -Dave

Works well on the iPhone. Keep up the great work!
Hi Dave! Nice to hear that
Hi Dave! Nice to hear that work has been made. Is there yet any possibility to use flight planning tool (right-click issue)? -tom
Fantastic. Just pulled it up
Fantastic. Just pulled it up on my iPhone 4. Works great -- keep up the good work!

Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for this. Now that I have a MiFi for my iPad, this will be a very helpful tool for flight planning.

And you did it without
And you did it without creating an App and forcing users to pay the Apple Toll Booth / Troll. Good job.
Nook Color
Works well on the Nook Color as well... The WX boxes show up by just by touching the screen for a second or two... links to arpt info pages load great as well. This is a great tool! This tool along with the free approach plates and AFD's through Chartbundle (www.tppl.mobi/nc) This is fantastic. (The "nc" in the link is for the nook color epub formats) www.tppl.mobi will give you the regular downloads. These two are a MUST for me! Huge Thank you for creating such a great TOOL! Keep it up!

User Agent
Dave, are you reading the device's user agent string and delivering a different interface for iOS users? If so, would it be possible to deliver this interface to Android devices? It would be interesting (to me at least) to see what functionality could be coaxed out of that interface on Android, given that simply going to skyvector.com on an Android yields zero functionality at present.
Which browser?
The problem with Android is that I cannot make any assumptions about the browser. With iOS I can predict multi-touch support and hardware-accelerated CSS3 transforms. You are welcome to point your Android to the following URL's to see how they work. http://skyvector.com/iphone.html http://skyvector.com/iphone4.html http://skyvector.com/ipad.html
I gave it a shot on my Droid I
The Iphone link was clunky but functional. The iphon4 link seemed more responsive...but the buttons weren't there. The Ipad link seemed to be something of a middle ground between the two. In all three cases, I had keep the phone lonways up and down for the maps to be even close to usable. But on it's side, the buttons were much more accessible.

Don't Panic!

Iphone link
for some reason, the link only took me to a blank page saying done?
IPhone4 Link
I loaded it and tried to view it on my phone instead of my desktop and it worked great! Thanks for all your help and GREAT FLYING TO YOU!
Tried all 3 on my Android 1.6
Tried all 3 on my Android 1.6 powered tablet and the interface appears to be working (changing lat/long as I sweep, zoom functions) but the chart images aren't present. I've also got a box outline taking up approximately 1/3 of the width and a little over 1/2 the height of the chart window below the search box. Chart images load on the desktop version on the device but I can't move the map and the buttons are in the wrong places, as mentioned by OP. Hopefully you're still developing this angle - I think it's great what you've done so far! ***EDIT*** Tried these links on my laptop just now and they seem to work just fine (images and all).
Iphone4 Sky Vector App's
Can anyone tell me what the name of the "Sky Vector App. is? Thanks Larry D,
None yet
Larry, There is no App as of yet. The announcement at the start of this thread was about the map being touch compatible.
Original iPhone
Sorry, Dave. My original iPhone didn't load the site. I was in the same room as my router so it appears my phone is just too slow to handle it. Same trouble on a few other sites, but I hate to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. As long as the phone and basic data work I'm going to ride that pony 'til she quits.
Works ok on iphone, except, I

Works ok on iphone, except, I can't tap the SIGMET areas to get more info. Tapping them just brings up the GPS reference to the point.

Hi, I cant find the app for ipad in my App store. Please advice,
