Flight Planning
During flight planning if right click on an area, I see what seems to be an intersection, even though I don't see it on IFR or VFR chart. Can anyone tell me a little more about that. For example, if you go to linden airport, KLDJ and just right click your mouse just a little south of it, you see "CHESA" & "HOWYA". Are those intersections? If they are, why can't I see them on the IFR or VFR charts. Thanks
Procedural Waypoints
There are many other waypoints, most of them having to do with instrument procedures. HOWYA is used on most instrument approaches to Runway 4L at EWR. CHESA is used on a Helicopter ILS approach to Runway 4L at ERW. If you check out the airport information page for EWR - Newark Liberty International Airport you can view PDF versions of these instrument procedures. Hope that helps. -dave

Hidden Intersections
SkyVector Users, I have also found some of these "hidden intersections" on SkyVector & find the system's feature of finding & identifying very helpful for VFR flight planning. For example, there is a bend in V25 between Klamath Falls & Red Bluff. Before I found this feature I would set it up as a User Waypoint in my GPS. Now, that I know that KAGYE intersection is at that bend, I use KAGYE int. as my waypoint & my GPS already "knows" about it.

Are you asking what is a SID

Are you asking what is a SID and what is a STAR or are you asking where do you find them? I'll answer both the best I can. A SID is a Standard Instrument Departure and a STAR is a Standard Terminal Arrival. These charts will be found on the airport information page. Right click on an airport and select the airport name. Scroll to the bottom of the page and if the airport has a SID or STAR it will be listed there with the Instrument approaches and Weather Minimums.
