Birrfeld ist a very nice and conviniently located airport. The city of Zurich can be reached within 20 minutes if traffic on the highway is good, otherwise it is more like 40 minutes. Airport Staff is friendly and the restaurandt is ok. Landing fees are on the high side for aircraft with noise certificate class C (CHF 20.00). If the weather is nice you have to expect a lot, and a mean a lot(!) of traffic coming in and out of the field (glider activity as well. Handled on separate frequency but very close on the parallel approach). I highly recomend to every pilot to visit the homepage (https://www.birrfeld.ch/) and read all the information provided reffering to the pilot who is planning a flight to this airport. The pattern is extremely narrow and you have to expect enormous traffic density, mixed from very slow to extremely fast airplanes. This makes it especially difficult. - Keep your eyes out and prepare the departure or the approach to the best of your abilities. Also be aware of the airspace structure because of the airports neareness to Zurich international airport.

I highly recommend a visit! You will see a huge variety of all kinds of aircraft und you can enjoy the departing and arriving traffic from the restaurants terrasse.
