Comments

I met the new FBO owners Brian and Tarah last Friday enroute to the National Biplane Fly-in in Junction City.  They are nice people and extended me every courtesy, including the offer of a courtesy car.  I elected to walk the 100 yards to Mittens restaraunt, located in the Mittens Truck Stop next door.  The restaurant is decent with good service.  It offers standard American fare and reasonable prices.

I stopped again on Sunday enroute home to top up and get a bite to eat.  The airport was unmanned, but a call to the number on the fuel pump quickly brought a Mittens Truck Stop employee over to take care of fueling and invoicing.  I paid for my fuel at the truck stop and had another meal at the restaurant.

My advice if you are stopping on a weekend or after hours is to call ahead and make arrangements as required.  You will be well taken care of.  I know there are a couple of decent hotels in Oakley, so it is a reasonable place for an overnight.  At present the pilots lounge at the airport is very basic.

Mechanic's services are available.  Mike is an A&P and there is an IA in the area.

Thank you for the kind review!

As you said during any times that we are closed, feel free to call my cell 785-443-4950. We live right down the road and will be glad to provide any service 24/7.

We are currently upgrading the pilots lounge with more ammenitys as well!

Again, thank you for the kind review and we hope to see you again soon!
