CSG5 Runway 06/24 new information
Hello SkyVector team, I would like to inform you about recent changes made to runway 06/24 at St-Jean Chrysostome Airport (CSG5) this past spring.
The runway has been asphalted (paved), replacing the former gravel surface. They also added runway markings and signage (runway numbers and threshold markings are now painted). I am not sure whether a runway lighting system has been installed, so that part may still need to be verified.
From what I understand, this change was made because winds are more favorable on runway 06/24, and also because a flight training school (CFAQ) was established at the airport in 2021, increasing the need for a paved runway.
I’ve attached an image showing the current condition of runway 06/24, where the new asphalt surface and markings can be seen.
