The Morris Municipal Airport MOX (Charlie Schmidt Field) is located on Minnesota Highway 28 west of Morris, Minnesota. It has one paved runway, 32/14, which is currently 4,000’ long by 75’ wide. (Note: the city is currently waiting on a grant to extend the runway out to 4,898’. Work is scheduled to begin in September of 2020). There is also a new parallel taxiway running the length of the runway which will be extended as part of the new construction project. The cross wind turf runway, 22/4, is 2,635’ long by 150’ wide and is closed during the winter. It will be taken out as part of the runway extension project.
The airport facilities include the arrival/departure building, two t-hangars, and three heated multi-storage hangars. Within the arrival/departure building, there is a pilot lounge, conference area, and aviation weather center.
Nav-aid systems include a VOR, DME, and AWOS. The airport is a self-service airport. There is a self-service credit card refueling system which was recently updated and provides both Jet A and 100 LL fuels. Mastercard and Visa are accepted. A courtesy car is available on request.
