Comments
If you are planning on flying
If you are planning on flying in here you need to know a few things first.....
1) This is a private airstrip and landing is by prior permission from one of the airport residents only.
2) This is a very narrow turf strip surrounded by tall trees on all four sides.
3) Frequently we have gusty cross winds from the west as we are parallel to the Schweitzer ridge.
4) Expect to encounter deer, bear, moose, turkeys or the occasional dog or small child on the airstrip.......particularly if you are coming in near twilight.
5)There is a deep drainage ditch along the west side of the runway that has claimed at least one aircraft in the past.
6) This is not an airstrip to be taken lightly. Back country proficiency is highly recommended.
As my old formation lead used to say at the end of every brief.......remember safety is paramount.
