Comments

I visited 57NC (by car) in August 2017. Two hangar roofs have collapsed, one onto an apparently abandoned 1959 Piper twin. The terminal building is abandoned and gutted. There is grass growing between the concrete slabs, but the runway looks useable. Someone mows the adjacent grass. The listed owner (Leroy Sossamon) died about 10 years ago, so I have no idea who to contact for landing permission. The entrance road has a locked gate. This is actually an interesting place to visit if you're in the area.
