Comments

  • Please listen carefully to the ATIS for the CURRENT tower frequency. Sometimes we operate with one tower, sometimes two (south/north+helos).
  • When two towers are operating: arr/dep RY25L and LANDING RY30 is 119.4 - arr/dep RY25R and DEPARTING RY30 is 120.5
  • When two towers are operating: helicopter operations in the midfield and north of RY25L tower 120.5, south of RY25L tower 119.4
  • Arrivals: state your position, (altitude is also helpful), ATIS, and requested runway on initial contact.
  • Departures: contact CD first, state the ATIS, position/ramp, and desired runway and/or intersection for departure.
  • Flight Following: state your entire request on initial contact including the above information.
  • Land and Hold Short Operations (LAHSO) clearances may be issued - normally land RY30 H/S RY25R, land RY25R H/S of RY30, or land RY12 H/S RY16L.
  • A clearance is REQUIRED to cross ANY runway (regardless of its status: inactive or closed).
  • The recommended pattern altitude is 1,000msl.
  • Please fly your downwinds for RY25L about 1/2nm, but no farther than 3/4nm from the runway - large jet arrivals to RY30 will cross below the downwind.
  • *HELICOPTERS* If you are not familiar with the arr/dep/pattern and crossing altitudes, please state "unfamiliar". Never proceed direct to the route unless specifically cleared "direct".
  • Thank you for flying Long Beach Airport!
