Comments

The attention to detail by the FBO staff and the maintenance shop of Phoenix Air are second to none.
I flew into Cartersville airport when I landed I exited the runway on taxi way A3 and on the ground I noticed a large hose clamp like as used for carpet hoses on aircraft engiyes so right away I called in on the radio that there was a large hose clamp and that it was going to be run over someone needed to come out and take it Right away the FBO sent out someone in a golf cart and picked up not only the hose clamp but they found a hub nut complete with cotter pin.  The FBO team came out right away and filled my airplane when I went in to pay they showed me the parts that they had picked up on the taxi way I asked if it was normal to find parts out on the taxi way and runway and Johnson said no we never find parts out there.  Johnson asked me if I recognized this part that he had and it looked just like the hub nut that was on my airplane well it turns out that it was on my airplane and then it came off when I was texting it in.
Well it turns out that Johnson went out to my airplane and looked and saw that my left main landing gear was missing the hub nut what was strange was that the Cotter pen that retains the hub nut was in the hub nut already it was never tightened on correctly and when the Cotter pen was installed it was not installed through the axle it was just free floating barely Making any contact with the axle so what happened was after several several Probably since December the hub network loose and finally after landing at Clarksville Georgia it fell off.
So I think it Was good karma that I called out the part that I saw on the taxi way and then a few minutes later the part for My plane was found saving me a huge amount of trouble.
Right away the FBO crew took me down to the maintenance hanger and Jacob the A&P came over and looked and said that they would be able to fix that for me right away and sure enough within an hour the A&P mechanic had looked at the problem inspected to make sure there was no damage and then reinstalled the hub nut correctly.
Even the paperwork was a breeze as Nikki put my info in the system and had a logbook entry ready for me in just a few minutes.  Amazing.
This is probably the best experience in one of the better stories that this FBI will have to tell because if that had come Blue Sun take off and fall off the airplane I would have had serious problems probably a disaster for the airplane.
I managed A Phoenix aviation T-shirt and now I can wear it around my airport and when someone asks why I'm wearing the FBO's T-shirt from Georgia I'll tell them all about my experience with this fantastic fixed base operator and maintenance organization.
